This is a very special entry because it is also my first entry for Artifact motherhood blog circle which is a collaboration of artists/mothers from around the world. Mothers sharing stories of the joys and struggles of our journey. These are more than photographs with dates written on the back. These are the artifacts we are leaving behind for children and the generations to come. Please check out Ann Bloom, the next artist in our blog circle and continue through all the artists until you get back to me!
I always find myself thinking what it feels like to be a grandmother. Since my children were born I try to cultivate this relationship in their lives. Grandma's house is always a place of fun, to receive lots of love and of course, to mess up a lot.
My children have both grandparents and I always look for them and the grandmas to have some time to develop activities together!
Grandma Denise buys a lot of glazes and Gabi makes the mess by painting her nails and some other objects too!
Miguel loves to spend time on grandma's balcony
Grandma Kika likes to read and Gabi loves to read books and do homework with Grandma!
Miguel and Gabi love to swim with Grandma Denise and now that Gabi already knows how to swim it is easier for Mom to be able to shoot without so many worries!
We teach our children to honor and respect grandmas and the whole family, because these relationships are part of their formation as human beings. When it comes to my turn to be a grandmother I want them to have these memories and let them also know how to cultivate these relationships!
And you probably already noticed that all these images show the two grandmothers in the same house! No, they do not live together, but they become friends, because many times we go to Grandma Denise's house we take Grandma Kika too and we spend lots of fun moments together!
